Portraits and Plein air, New shows for 2021

Hello

There are some great projects I am participating in this Summer. In June to of my pieces were chosen for the Oregon Society of Artist Rose festival show with “Peninsula Landscape” getting an honorable mention. The show is up through June 23. More information can be found at OSArtist.org

With the Elisabeth Jones Art center, I have work in two Artist stipen projects. In June, my portrait of Joanne Hyppolite, Curator at the National Museum of African American History and Culture at the Smithsonian hangs in the front hall. It is part of the “My Favorite Things” Series that included artists painting portraits (on zoom).

In July at Elisabeth Jones a painting done on location for their “Emergency Tree Response” will hang with this on going series, bringing attention to saving trees marked for removal. More information is at Elisabethjones.art

Look for an exhibition of landscapes at Radius Studios in July, as well as the showing of my completed portrait series of the Portland Film Festival Staff in the Fall.

In addition i have work at the Akeemi Salon on Williams Ave and still a large amount of past work at the wonderful Cassidy’s restaurant! Check it out. cassidysrestaurant.com

Hope to see you all in person soon!

Leah

Portrait Series, spring 2020

It was such good timing. This spring, I decided to do a portrait series of ten friends. They would sit for only an hour and half. After that, I did a little touch up in the studio and often put in the back grounds. It is such a pleasure, sitting and chatting with these friends. The process is of great benefit to hone my portrait painting craft. Portraits available even at 6ft apart !!!
